In this session, middle school instructional leaders will have the opportunity to understand the shifts called for in the new Colorado Academic Standards for Science (based on the Next Generation Science Standards) and explore the new middle school science curriculum, Amplify. This session will set school leaders up to support their teachers in implementing the new standards and curriculum with tools and resources for observing and coaching. This session is co-hosted by Lawrence Hall of Science, the research institution responsible for writing the Amplify curriculum.
An optional time for principals and ISs to work with Dr. Fergus to develop and refine their monthly activity calendar( Fergus, chapter 4) that supports their UIP and equity goals. Participants will be addressing their targeted outcomes they’ve identified in the UIP with Dr. Fergus to continue their work on gaining a greater depth and clarity around their identified disparities. General Q&A time with Dr. Fergus will also be provided.
